Social Media Buttons are becoming more and more popular on websites today as Social Media is fast becoming a part of almost everyone’s everyday lives. In this day and age, if you want to be successful in the world of Online Business, then you must embrace the new wave of technology that we call Social Media.
How to Add Social Media Buttons to a Website
By adding social media buttons to your website, you can broaden your horizons and widen your audience on a self perpetuating basis. This allows your readers to share articles you publish with their friends and colleagues.
What are Social Media Buttons
If you glance over to the left hand side of this page, you will see a list of Icons on a bar down the dodge of the webpage. These are all Social Media Share Buttons, and can be used to post directly into each of the Social Media Channels listed. So, if you wanted to share this article into your Facebook or Twitter profile for example, all you have to do is click the relevant Social Media Icon and Share away.
Go for it!
Give it a Try!
Note: If you are using Mobile you may not see these Icons as they are not available on the mobile version yet, but we aim to have that fixed soon.
You may often also see Social Media Share Buttons at the foot of many posts online and its a great way of both sharing useful information with your own network of friends or if you have your own website or blog, it can be a great way to have your sites audience help you publish your site by passing it on to their own networks.
Get the Plugin
You can add these buttons to your website or blog easily using a plugin for WordPress. I like to use the AddToAny Plugin because it’s completely Free and easy to use. All you have to do is Download and Install the AddToAny Plugin and choose from a whole range of different Social Media Channel Icons, Like Buttons, Share Buttons, Pin it buttons and more.
If you cant find the AddToAny Plugin in your WordPress backend then you can download it directly from the link below and upload it to your Plugins section manually.
You can choose which style of arrangement you want to use to display your Social Share Buttons. Either go for a neat and discreet Button Bar at the bottom of your post, an Icon Cloud for your Side bar or a floating Button bar like the one on this page to the left.
You can choose whichever one suits you and decide for yourself where about on your website you want to place it. You can place as many button bars as you want on your page. You can also choose whether your Button bar to by Static as the Page rolls or Dynamic.
Sharing your Posts
Once you have successfully added your Social Media Share buttons to your site, you can use them to share your posts. So, all you have to do is go onto your recently published website or blog post and click on whatever button you want and share your post into the respective Social Media Platform.
However, this can take time and if you want to post at a certain time this way, you need to make sure you’re online then to manually share your post. So, if you like to share all your newly published posts into social media channels, then you would be best to use an Auto-Posting Plugin.
There are quite a few different auto posting plugins you can use, but I prefer to use Blog2Social as I can do pretty much everything I need on the Free version and if I do want to use some of the fancier features like sharing into specific groups, their pricing is pretty good value for money too. You can find out more about the Blog2Social WordPress Plugin in my recent article;
