When you have your business established or your website up and running with lots of content, you will want it to be seen. There are many ways you can do this. But in this post we will be discussing how you can set up a Facebook page for your business or website.
Why have a Facebook page for your Business?
Today, Social Media is where most people online are at any given time. Massive platforms like Facebook and Twitter have almost become the worlds news, at least on street level. In an age where the whole idea of being able to go online and speak your mind, these platforms provide a platform for people to do just that.
Even many of the World Leaders, Politicians and personalities have come to realise that this is perhaps the most effective way to reach people. This is because there is in fact a much greater chance of them being seen and heard than they ever would on any news channel.
Think about it. How many times a day do you think the average person watches the news in a day? How many times do you think the same people log into Facebook or Twitter each day? Exactly! Besides, on these platforms they can say what they like and not just what the Television channels let them say if they are lucky to get any air play at all.
The Facebook Revolution
This is why more and more businesses are turning to social media, especially Facebook, to advertise their services or products. In fact, you now have many who will operate their whole business from their Facebook page where they can sell their products, take bookings, etc.
As people can only view these Facebook pages if they are actually logged in as a member and this itself has brought in millions of new Facebook users over the past decade.
People who would never usually be seen on social media at all, suddenly find themselves having an account, even if it is just to be able to see the business page they’re after.
So, if you want to be seen, whether you’re a Business, Musician, Artist or even just looking to meet people – Facebook is where most of them are. It’s also completely Free to have a Facebook page and you can have as many as you like.
How to set up a Facebook page for Your Business
Setting up a Facebook page could not be easier than it is today and in this Tutorial, I will show you how. Follow the instructions and you can have your Facebook Business page up and running in no time and even have Likes and Followers before your day is out.
Before you can create a page, the first thing you will need is a Facebook account. IF you havent got one already, then you can set one up Free in just a few seconds;
- Go to Facebook.com
- Click “Register” next to the “Log in” button.
Fill in your details: Name, Email address, D.O.B (If you are uncomfortable with sharing your personal Information then you can always use an Alias, although with your Business, I’d suggest you be as transparent as you possibly can).
Upload a profile picture. This is Optional and you can upload any picture you want. But again, for business purposes, I suggest you use a Photo of yourself. Remember, you want too build trust between you and your potential clients or customers.
Go to your profile page and click “Edit Bio” and tell the world a bit about yourself. You can also give details of your School, Places you’ve lived, worked, etc. Again, all of this is optional. But for the sake of your business you may want to give as much detail as you can.
Let it be Known
You now have a Facebook account. You can also check out the “Find Friends” section if you want. It will give you friend suggestions based on your email address, location, interests, etc. Once again, this is optional, but if you don’t add any friends then nobody will see anything you do on Facebook at all. This kinda defeats the purpose of having it, unless it’s only to look at other peoples stuff, ie, shop & business pages, etc.
But if you are aiming to promote your business, then you may want to have a friends list. Remember though, when you create a Page, it will be able to attract it’s own “Friends list”. So it’s up to you.
Your Facebook business page
So, now you have your account, it’s time to create your page. Follow the step by step instructions below to get your page up and running;
Go to your Facebook Dashboard (Home Page)
Click on the ‘Pages’ tab on the left column.
When it opens, again on the left column, click on the ‘Create a Page’ tab.
Now, you will see a small section on the left. This is the section you will use to fill in your page details. The larger section on the right will show you a preview of how your page will look when it’s like.
Post Straight From Your Website
Now that you have your Facebook Page set up, why not connect it to your website? Then you can automatically share all your latest content directly to your Facebook page.
