Why is Social Media Important to Business
There are a multitude of reasons why social media is important for your business and I could sit here talking about them all day. But I will do my best to highlight a few good reasons below, why social media is important to your business, whether you are a fan of social media or not.
An Additional source of Traffic
Never rely on one source of traffic. Although SEO can go a long way toward getting your website published, you should also give your website as many platforms as you can to publish your articles.
Social media provides many options for this as there are many different platforms. You can find all sorts of Social Media Platforms and Forums for almost every niche you can think of. So lots of scope on that front.
However, Facebook and Twitter are probably the best to use as they are the busiest. But you can decide for yourself depending on what your website is and who your audience is.
Social Media Builds your Brand
Using social media regularly lets you build your brand. Consistent posts will eventually lead to your brand being noticed and people can start connecting with it. Engaging your audience will also help your brand to be seen and noticed. So using social media, you are getting a good deal of free advertising that you are in control of yourself.
Social Media Builds your authority
By engaging your audience you can start to build a rapport wit them. With this comes Trust and authority. By keeping an active presence on social media platforms you will soon gain authority in your niche if your content is of good quality.
Helps You To Define Your Audience
By the use of Social Media in Publishing your website, it not only widens your reach but also gives you a bit of Insight into who your audience are and what they’re all about.
General Demographic Audience
Your general demographic is your audience. This Audience can over everyone from right across the board.
Whether it be through Search Engine Optimization, Email Marketing PPC ads and everything else, the traffic you draw and people you reach are your ‘Demographic’.
Social Demographic Audience
Your Social demographic is those who are your audience through the use of social media. There are hundreds of different Social Media Platforms for all different niches. So you may find that some platforms are better than others, all depending on what your demographic is.
Many social media platforms have their own analytics that you can use to study your demographic on that particular social media platform.
Helps you get Feedback
- Ask for Feedback
- Encourage your audience by letting them know that you wont take much of their time. Nobody wants to sign up to anything they don’t have the time for especially if it seems like it will take them ages to check out. Let them know that it will only take them a few moments of their time
Using hashtags for tracking and for social growth
By the use of hashtags, you can get to know more about your audience by finding out things about your audience. You can use these hashtags to find out things such as;
- Common Interests
- Topics they follow
- Things they Buy
- Music they listen to
- Films or Tv Shows they watch
- and more
